aww, sorry you're sick! hope you feel better real soon.
days of rain was hell!
Well, here it is Good Friday in Christianland and it seemed like a very good day to post. I finally have some time thanks to the new tenants I leased to last week. What a grueling (and expensive) haul that was - trying to rent something in the winter months. Gas bill, gas schmill ... they can gouge the old pocket book, that's for sure. I really like the young couple that will be renting the place. It feels great to have that albatross thrown off for another year.
I promised that I'd post the best comeback to another Notey Nancy sticky note conundrum (she's the awful neighbor that feels compelled to leave notes on everyone's car if they park in front of her house). Theresa told me I should send her an official looking tax bill from our borough demanding her payment for the public property she owns, complete with a street repaving fee. GOOD ONE! That Theresa ... she's such a clever one.
We're headed to the Pirate baseball home opener Monday and decided I really need to think long and hard about what to wear. It's supposed to be 43 degrees for the game. Lovely! To think I had to mow the lawn only last Tuesday and now it's snowing. That's spring in Pittsburgh for you.
T and I are going to my parent's for Easter dinner Sunday. That will be really great as I haven't seen them in a month or so. I haven't seen my sister since Christmas, for crying out loud. I hate that we don't see each other more but have come to accept it. Unless I make time to reach out to her, we don't speak. It's odd and troubled me for years. We live 10 miles apart and never see each other except at our parent's house. I suppose a lot of siblings are like that. I just wish we weren't. I tried for years to reach out and the reaching out was never reciprocated in the least. I stopped trying a few years ago. Okay ... maybe like seven years ago, truth be told. It will be nice to see her and her brood. At least she stopped buying me snowman socks and Avon hand cream for Christmas. Now that's progress!
My good friend, Leigh, who I write about occasionally, is still doing well following her Bone Marrow Transplat (BMT) last year. Now she's battling something else along with 60 percent of America - her weight. I feel her pain, man. The older I get, the fatter I get and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat or how much I work out. My metabolism is stuck on zero or something. I really need to lose 30 pounds. She had me laughing today when she said "I joined Weight Watchers ... but it's so restrictive." Uh ... yeah ... that's the POINT (get it? point?) I need to get my fattened up winter arse into spring mode and start walking again with Zoe.
Speaking of walking with Zoe, I'm headed out now to do that. Enjoy the long weekend if you have one. Thanks for stopping by.
