aww, sorry you're sick! hope you feel better real soon.
days of rain was hell!
20,000 more troops for Iraq. That's Bush's stance. That's McCain's opinion. That's insane. (Do I really have to provide a definition for "insanity?" Nah ... you're smart readers.)
We don't need more troops on the ground in Iraq. We need more effectiveness with those we do have sacrificing their lives over there today. If the government received performance reviews based on stated goals and achievements, they'd be scoring a "needs great improvement. An F. A Fail. A Flunk. Performance counseling in order."
Enter the new Congress. Make them accountable, their rally. Make it mean something, I politely request.
Bush has 733 days left in office. I say it's 733 days too many without accountability. Reign them in. Make them accountable with quantifiable plans, budgets, and timelines. Any corporation must do the same. Why shouldn't our government?
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore, President (questionably elected and then re-elected) Bush and team. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. This country's reputation is at stake. Our citizens lives are on the line. Now is not the time for ignoring the plan that has been offered to you.
The Iraqi's, poor souls, need help not more "green, locked and loaded" soldiers on the ground amidst the legions of Special Forces retirees hired out to protect the muckety mucks and party-loyal Iraqi guards. They need water and electricity and a sense of well-being. They need schools that they feel confident sending their children to. They need a sense of industry and well-being for the future. Give them that. Quit killing people that are innocent. Get out. Keep your hands off of their oil.
I know there are no simple solutions to the problems in Iraq. These things take time. Time and the right agenda. If we keep killing innocent people, we will continue to swell the surge of insurgents. I'd be mad as hell too if one of my own was killed on his/her way to the store. I'd want us out too. And yet, I'd understand that to tell you to go completely would spell disaster.
What a pig f*ck. Hind sight is 20/20. We know now that there were no WMD. It was all a pony show. Colin, the poor sod, leading the show.
Sometimes, you just have so say "what the f*ck" and cut your losses and run. Do what you can. Provide what you can. Leave it up to the Vietnamese (oops!), Iraqi's, to sort out. Engage them in trade and let them beat you 40 years down the road. Not let go of their hands but not push their butts over the wall to industry either.
Let's regain focus on what's really important in this country. Things like universal health care, meaningful wages for hourly workers, and good educations.
Okay. I'm done ranting now. I'm curious, though. What's your opinion on this mess?
Thanks for reading.
Cheers!
